Job summary

The Bread Factory in Bath is seeking a Bakery Supervisor to lead and support our baking team, overseeing daily production, ensuring quality control, and managing a team of bakers to keep operations running smoothly in our busy artisan bakery.

You’ll participate in the full baking process, maintain high standards, manage workflows and health and safety, and contribute to the wider success of the bakery through stock control, training, onboarding, recruitment, and a strong, skilled workforce.

Qualifications

• Experience in a bakery or food production environment
• Solid understanding of artisan bread and pastry techniques
• Strong leadership and team supervision skills
• Ability to manage production schedules and workflows
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and bakery hygiene

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily production of bread, pastries, and baked goods, ensuring high quality and on-time output.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of bakers through clear direction and feedback.
• Participate in the full baking process including preparation, mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised bakery and ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
• Support stock control, ingredient management, equipment care, and involvement in recruitment and training.
