About the Role:

As an Art Teacher, you will work with students who have complex and diverse needs. Creativity is a central pillar of your teaching, providing students with a safe outlet for self-expression and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible art lessons tailored to individual emotional and behavioural needs
  • Encourage self-expression and emotional regulation through creative activities
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCO, pastoral staff, and the Dorset SEND team
  • Maintain a structured, respectful, and trusting classroom environment
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture where all students feel valued and proud of their achievements

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant teaching experience in art or SEN settings
  • Strong background in Art or Art Education
  • Experience working with students with social, emotional, or behavioural needs
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Creative, resilient, patient, and committed to inclusive teaching practices
