Job Title: Teacher of Art (One-Term Fixed Contract)
Location: Wakefield
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Fixed-Term (1 Term)
Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on experience)

Are you a passionate and creative Art teacher looking for a new challenge?
A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Wakefield is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Art to join their team for a one-term maternity cover starting in September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering a broad and imaginative Art curriculum. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive department and a school committed to fostering a love of the arts and promoting student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons in line with national curriculum requirements

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Contribute to the broader life of the school, including exhibitions and enrichment activities

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold QTS and have experience teaching Art at secondary level

  • Be enthusiastic, creative, and committed to high standards of teaching and learning

  • Be confident managing a classroom and engaging learners of all abilities

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
