Job summary

Join Basingstoke College of Technology as an Art Lecturer in the Games, Media and Art department. You will deliver innovative teaching, design schemes of work and mentor students toward strong academic and career progression.

We are seeking a student-focused educator with a degree in a relevant discipline, a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., DTLLS), and at least two years of teaching experience up to Level 3. Strong digital classroom skills and industry expertise are valued.

Art Lecturer
FTE: 1.0 (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
Salary:

£37,653.00 to £43,956.00 per annum (depending on skills and experience)

Microteach Topic:

Camera Angles and Framing for Short-Form Video (TikTok/Reels/Shorts)

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify 3 core camera angles (Extreme Close-Up, Medium Shot, Low Angle) and their emotional impact on viewers.
  • Apply framing rules by creating a 3-panel digital storyboard for a 15-second promo using smartphones or tablets.
  • Evaluate peer storyboards using standard industry criteria.

Assume the class will be of mixed ability.
