Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking a Product & Process Optimiser to join the Bioresources team at Esholt works. The role involves hands-on site work and control-room monitoring, sampling, data capture, and process optimisation to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.

You will work with engineers to maintain safety, manage contractors, and ensure compliance, with a 37-hour week on a 4-on/4-off pattern. Full driving licence required and site travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of Health and Safety management processes and systems.
• Technical understanding of production processes and be able to self-manage and prioritise technical and manual workloads ensuring ‘right first time’ when completing tasks.
• Analytical and fault diagnosis of production processes.
• Experience of delivering continual improvement in a process / production environment.
• Experience in incident management and asset failure recovery.
• Be able to work on own and as part of team and be proactive and take ownership of site issues, working with others to resolve.
• Be able to influence and challenge in the right way.
• To use creativity and innovation endeavouring to find new ways of achieving site targets and to seek improvements to the way that tasks are successfully completed.
• To use initiative to resolve problems or issues and meticulous attention to detail to ensure ‘right first time’ performance.
• Proficient user of MS Office Applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams
• Good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively and be able to develop and maintain valuable internal and external relationships.
• Holds a full, valid driving licence (with no more than 6 points)

Responsibilities

• No two days are the same; you will conduct routine manual and technical work on sites, including routine operations, instrument calibration, sampling, reporting, data analysis and basic maintenance checks to prevent failure and manage workload according to resources and risk.
• The Product & Process Optimiser will take ownership of the site and maintain a safe working environment by implementing Health and Safety procedures, inducting visitors, and mitigating hazards.
• You will work closely with Product and Process Engineers to maintain site compliance in and out of hours.
