Job summary

United Utilities in Ellesmere Port is seeking a Process Control Technician to operate and optimise wastewater treatment sites and pumping stations on-site. You will manage planned tasks, record reactive work, and contribute to site safety and environmental compliance.

Engage in weekly performance reviews, provide data-driven insights, and support continuous improvement. A full UK driving licence, hands-on experience, and readiness for out-of-hours standby are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Practical or hands-on experience in an operational, engineering or process-based environment.
• Ability to follow SOPs, health & safety rules and environmental guidelines.
• Willingness to learn and build technical knowledge relevant to renewable and waste treatment processes.
• Strong team player with good communication across roles.
• This role includes out-of-hours standby.

Responsibilities

• Operation and optimisation of Wastewater treatment sites and Last in Line Pumping Stations.
• Complete planned workload of cyclic tasks and record reactive tasks.
• Lead weekly reviews and provide input and support as required.
• Provide reliable, accurate asset performance information.
• Analyse and propose solutions to recurring process problems.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors on site, ensuring safety and compliance.
