Royal Logistic Corps is recruiting chefs for Army life, cooking for soldiers at home and abroad. You will begin with initial military training, then spend 18 weeks at the Defence Food Service Wing to learn food hygiene and gain a Level 2 Health & Safety qualification, finishing with field catering training and earning a category B driving licence.

You will start with a salary of £27,282 per year, with progression opportunities as you advance.

Qualifications

• Age eligibility: 16–36 at application, start from 16 years 6 months.
• Training pathway from Junior Soldier to Regular Soldier with Defence Food Service Wing.

Responsibilities

• Cook meals for soldiers in various settings, from field to VIP events.
• Learn health and safety standards and gain relevant food service qualifications.
• Develop administration, finance and storage skills as part of Army food service.
