Job summary

Sodexo invites applications for a Chef role at St Davids Barracks, OX26 6HF, within a Ministry of Defence setting. You’ll prepare high-quality meals, maintain strict hygiene, and collaborate with front-of-house to deliver exceptional service daily.

The role includes catering for military personnel and involvement in events. The ideal candidate has professional chef experience, recognised qualifications, and a strong knowledge of food safety; military catering experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Professional chef experience in catering or hospitality.
• Recognised culinary qualifications (City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ Level 2/3).
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, team-focused environment.
• Experience in military or government catering.
• IOSH qualification or equivalent and MS Office familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, cooking and service of meals in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene per EHO guidelines.
• Collaborate with front-of-house to deliver outstanding service.
• Cook and serve meals to military personnel with consistent quality.
• Oversee kitchen sanitation and best practices.
• Contribute to high-profile events and functions and bulk cooking.
