Job summary

Babcock is seeking an Armoured Vehicle Crew Leader at Bovington Camp near Wareham, Dorset. You will lead a small team to maintain and repair military vehicles, balancing leadership with hands-on technical work.

Based onsite, with a 39-hour week, Monday to Friday, you will train, review performance, and ensure safety and compliance while supporting defence training and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Good computer literacy and the ability to learn new in‑house systems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to undertake regular manual handling activities and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Must be aged 21 years or over due to licencing restrictions.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervising a team of 6-10 personnel and supporting their development through performance reviews, coaching and training identification.
• Inspecting equipment and compiling job cards detailing Level 1 and Level 2 maintenance requirements.
• Checking completed maintenance work and closing team job cards in accordance with required standards.
• Identifying and demanding servicing items, consumables and spare parts to support maintenance activities.
• Driving, operating and maintaining military vehicles for which you are qualified and ensuring maintenance work is completed safely and correctly.
