Job summary

Optima Health is recruiting a Medical Technician to support the Armed Forces Recruitment service. You will conduct pre‑service medical assessments, perform biometric checks, and record results on the candidate portal across multiple clinics in the UK.

Based in the Birmingham area, the role offers full- and part-time hours, with occasional weekend work. It requires BPSS clearance and a right to work in the UK, delivering high‑quality candidate experiences.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience with confidence in delivering medical assessments.
• Competent in audiometry and spirometry; ECG experience is desirable.
• Excellent communication and people skills; strong organisation and time management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 6–7 Pre-Service Medical Assessments per day with biometric checks.
• Record and report biometrics using clinical IT systems accurately.
• Act as chaperone to maintain candidate dignity and privacy.
• Calibrate daily equipment and report faults or maintenance needs.
• Work from base clinic with occasional travel to other sites.
• Maintain clean, safe and well-stocked clinical areas.
• Follow Optima Health policies and clinical standards.
• Work independently within training and escalation processes.
• Support early starts, late finishes and occasional weekend work.
