Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking an Area Youth Worker 2 (Specialism) PEACEPLUS for the Causeway Coast & Glens area. The role oversees youth work programmes, develops initiatives with young people and partner agencies, and supports area projects in line with EA policies.

The post requires a qualified Youth Worker and relevant management experience, with emphasis on safeguarding, equality, and effective collaboration with communities and schools.

Qualifications

• Qualified Youth Worker per JNC Report for Youth Workers.
• Minimum of one year post-qualifying experience managing a Youth Centre/Youth Project.
• Minimum of one year experience managing youth work staff.
• Experience leading practice that improves the youth work specialism.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a range of youth work services within the designated area.
• Develop Annual Action Plan and contribute to Area and Youth Service plans.
• Ensure active participation of young people in programmes and area project management.
• Monitor, evaluate, and self-assess agreed work programmes with line manager.
• Provide support to youth groups and relevant organisations within the area.
