Job summary

BardWood Support Services is seeking an Area Support Officer in Aberdeen to patrol a busy retail store, ensure safety of staff and visitors, and respond swiftly to disturbances. You may be required to travel when needed and work both day and night shifts, including weekends.

The role requires a valid SIA license and a 5-year checkable work history; prior security experience is beneficial. Upon successful probation, a permanent contract will be offered with various benefits."

About the role

Title – Area Support Officer

Pay Rate – £ 12.71

Location – Aberdeen

Shift Timings – Must be available to work both day and night shifts, including weekends and be willing to travel reasonable distance as required.

You will be working in a well‑known retail store, which holds various stock. Officers are responsible for providing safety and security to both staff and visitors alike.

Your main responsibilities may include:

• Patrolling the Retail Store Premises.
• Investigating Disturbances, as well as monitoring the entry and exit points of the retail store.
• Confidently calling for help in emergency situations and operating theft‑detecting devices.
• Effectively dealing with large crowds and building positive customer relations.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
