Job summary

Omega is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our team on a permanent basis in Southampton. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical plant across retail sites, performing regular store visits, and handling both reactive and planned maintenance as requested by the customer.

Key duties include completing PPMs on time, testing emergency lighting and fire alarms, diagnosing faults, and ensuring all work complies with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification.
• AM2 and/or 2391 certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules within agreed timescales, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
• Deliver both reactive and planned maintenance on catering and bakery equipment.
• Carry out emergency lighting and fire alarm testing, maintenance, and repairs.
• Undertake general building repairs and maintenance as required across customer sites.
• Diagnose faults in plant and equipment, identifying non-repairable issues and recommending suitable replacement solutions.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with relevant regulations and standards.

Job Title: Area Site Technician

Location: Southampton

Pay Range/details: £39,825.03 per annum (salary including on call standby 1:4)

Contract Type: Permanent

Omega are supporting a leading facilities management provider in the recruitment of an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the team to work on a leading supermarket contracts. The role will involve maintaining and repairing a range of electrical, mechanical plant and equipment in retail outlets, undertaking regular planned store visits to complete reactive, PPMs and minor repairs as requested by the customer (including non-electrical).

Key Responsibilities

• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules within agreed timescales, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification.
• AM2 and/or 2391 certification.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial or retail environment.

Ideal Candidate

• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience using PDA/mobile job management systems.
• Ability to maintain and repair a broad range of electrical and mechanical equipment, including commercial catering and bakery equipment.
• Previous experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance in a retail or multi-site environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
