Job Title: Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST)

Location: Devon & Cornwall

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

Salary: £39,876 Total Salary (Inclusive of Standby (1:4 x 13 Periods) & Competency Payment*)

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Maintenance Electrician to join our team, working with a major UK supermarket client. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical, mechanical, and catering equipment across retail outlets, including regular store visits for reactive work, PPMs, and minor repairs as requested by the customer.

Key Responsibilities

1. Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and ensure all paperwork is accurately completed.
2. Perform reactive and planned maintenance on catering and bakery equipment.
3. Conduct emergency lighting and fire alarm tests and repairs.
4. Carry out general repairs and maintenance at customer sites as designated by management.
5. Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and advise the Line Manager with recommendations for replacement.

Essential Qualifications / Experience

• NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/maintenance.
• City and Guilds 18th Edition.
• AM2 / 2391.
• Additional £1,500 competency payment upon completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment, provided during the probation period, including two one-week training blocks.

The Ideal Candidate

• Full driving license.
• Experience using a PDA system.
• Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment, e.g., commercial catering/bakery.
• Experience in PPM and reactive maintenance within a retail environment.
