Fantastic opportunity to join a market leading and progressive company in the automation and control sector as an Area Sales Engineer for Process Control and Automation products.

The Company

The Role

Living in Northern Ireland, as the Area Sales Manager / Technical Sales Engineer / Field Sales Engineer, you are responsible for achieving profitable business sales of the process automation range of products and the full product range into existing and new customers throughout the territory which includes both North and South Ireland. You will be selling into a wide variety of customer types such as End Users, Panel Builders, System Integrators, OEM's mainly via a direct sales route, as you manage an established customer base and access information on potential customers for development. To assist your success in this you will receive comprehensive on going product training.

You will be field based and working closely with the rest of the sales team and sales managers along with your distribution partners. We are seeking candidates based within Northern Ireland in a suitable location to access the Republic of Ireland regularly, central would be ideal, with good access to road networks, Belfast, Bangor, Lisburn, Newry, for example, although an excellent candidate located anywhere with the territory would be considered.

The Candidate

For this technical field sales engineer position, prospective candidates MUST have the following attributes, skills and experience:

• Be an excellent communicator, negotiator and presenter, passionate about building lasting client relationships with Key Accounts.
• Business to business (B2B) field sales experience as an Area Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager, Sales Development or Business Development Manager, within control and automation, process automation, process instrumentation products. Candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge and sales success, preferably including involvement within the oil and gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, energy and utilities industries, achieving specification, preferred supplier and business win.
• Ideally have an engineering qualification in a relevant subject such as ONC, HNC level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
