Job summary

Plymouth Community Homes is seeking an Area Repairs Supervisor to deliver a high-quality, efficient repairs service across our occupied and empty homes. You will lead on-ground repairs operations, manage contractors, oversee inspections and ensure work is completed safely, on time and to a high standard.

Qualifications

  • Has a recognised trade qualification or relevant professional experience within repairs, maintenance or property services.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of building maintenance and repair practices.
  • Understands health and safety legislation and its practical application.
  • Is proactive, organised and confident making decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the delivery of responsive repairs and minor works across the area
  • Carrying out inspections and surveys within occupied and vacant properties
  • Preparing schedules of work and overseeing planned maintenance projects
  • Managing contractor performance to ensure quality, value for money and compliance
  • Investigating disrepair issues and implementing effective solutions
  • Undertaking health and safety inspections and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice
  • Leading, motivating and supporting operatives to achieve excellent outcomes
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to continuously improve the customer experience

About The Role

As an Area Repairs Supervisor, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient and customer-focused repairs service across our occupied and empty homes.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll lead repairs operations on the ground, manage contractors and colleagues, oversee inspections, and ensure work is completed safely, on time and to a high standard.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, building positive relationships, and taking ownership of challenges. In return, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of maintenance and property services activities, with opportunities to further develop your leadership and technical skills within a supportive team environment.

You’ll also participate in our out-of-hours on-call rota, helping to ensure our customers receive a responsive and reliable service when they need it most.
