We are looking for an experienced Area Manager with a strong operational background and people management skills to join Glenn Cleaning and Support Services Ltd.. Covering multiple client sites, you’ll lead teams, oversee service delivery, and ensure contracts run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations across multiple client sites, ensuring high standards of service and contract delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, resolving issues and ensuring long-term satisfaction and retention.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff, creating motivated and reliable site teams.
  • Conduct regular site visits, performance reviews, and cleaning inspections.
  • Monitor and control operational costs, identifying cost-saving initiatives to maintain profitability.
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies are adhered to at all times, including conducting regular audits.
  • Oversee staff rotas and scheduling to ensure adequate cover across all contracts.
  • Lead contract mobilisations, including TUPE transitions and planning.
  • Administer site documentation, including personnel files, training records, and accident reports.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for additional services at existing sites.
  • Attend internal meetings and training to stay up to date with best practices and new operational methods.

Key Skills

  • Proven experience in managing teams across multiple sites—ideally within the cleaning or FM industry.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities; able to manage changing priorities under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Good commercial awareness and a proactive mindset to drive service improvements and cost efficiency.
  • IT literate, with the ability to manage reports and digital admin (experience with site audits a plus).
  • Knowledge of employment law and staff welfare procedures, including recruitment and TUPE.
  • Confident working independently while contributing to the wider operational team.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • English & Maths (Level 4+ or equivalent)
  • Previous managerial experience in a relevant industry
  • Strong background in customer service and staff supervision
  • Experience within the cleaning or facilities management sector
  • Level 5+ qualification in Business Administration or similar
  • Completion of a recognised management training course
