Job summary

Gravity Recruit Limited is seeking an Area Manager for Warwickshire. The successful candidate will oversee multiple stores, drive sales and profitability, and lead a high-performing regional team across the South Midlands area.

You will report to the Head of Retail and the board, shaping region strategy, budgeting, and performance reviews while ensuring compliance with all regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of Area Manager/Regional Manager experience in retail.
• Experience managing multiple stores and large teams.
• Strong leadership with track record of developing people.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales, debt, cost and profit targets for each store in the region.
• Present the region's P&L to ownership monthly.
• Recruit, coach and manage Store Managers to maximise performance.
• Guide Store Managers in leading and motivating their teams.
• Create and manage strategic/operational plans for revenue growth.
• Increase efficiency and productivity via process analysis.
• Conduct regular store visits to drive standards and customer service.
• Plan, monitor and analyse key regional performance metrics.
• Formulate the annual regional budget.
• Collaborate with HR to foster an inclusive, high-performing environment.
• Ensure stores comply with health and safety regulations.
• Prepare performance reports for the board.
• Review reports to identify improvements and implement action plans.

Our client are sector leading Retail brand with Stores across the UK. As a result of their strong trading growth they now seek to recruit an Area Manager to look after a number of sites in the South Midlands area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced Area / Regional / Divisional Manager to make a move into a career role with a client that seeks to bring in the right person for a long term objective and offers a stable career path.

The Role:

Reporting into the Head of Retail and the board, the principal objective of Area Manager is to continually grow the business and the profitability of each store within the region to achieve its full potential and the company's vision for the region.

• Responsible for achieving the sales, debt, cost and profit performance targets for each store within the region.
• Responsible for region's P&L and present this to the Ownership monthly.
• Recruit, develop coach and manage the Store Managers in the region to maximise both team and individual performance.
• Advice and guide the Store Managers in coaching, developing, leading and motivating their teams to deliver the desired results.
• To create and manage both cost effective strategic and operational plans for the revenue growth and development of individual stores and the region.
• Maximise efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis.
• Complete regular store visits to focus on store standards and customer service to drive sales in line with company business goals.
• Plan, monitor, and analyse key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the regional operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
• Formulate the annual budget for the region.
• Work closely with HR to lead team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
• Ensure that the stores are adhering to relevant legal, health and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Prepare performance reports for the board.
• Review the reports and trends and be able to assess performance, identifying areas of improvement and create action plans to improve store operations and performance.

The Person:

• You must have at least 5 years full Area Manager or Regional Manager experienced gained within the Retail sector.
• You will need to come from a retail background with a large footprint and large teams. Such as DIY / Garden Centres / Supermarkets / Value / Big Box
• A passionate leader who delivers exceptional development of their people with clear example of this.
• High level communicator who thrives on autonomy and can deliver impact from day one in all areas of the business.
• You will be able to display evidence of managing the full day to day operations of multiple sites as well as being able to operate at strategic level, shaping and developing your regions business and into the wider business.

The Package:

• up to 60k Basic + Car Allowance + Annual bonus
