Job summary

SeaGate Homes is seeking a full-time Architectural Technician to join its design team in Spalding. You will produce planning drawings, support site layouts, and prepare documentation for planning submissions while working closely with the technical team.

The role requires AutoCAD LT proficiency, MS Office skills, and familiarity with Building Regulations. There is a clear path for progression within a supportive private home-builder environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD LT
• Ability to use Microsoft Word & Excel
• Experience with 3D software (SketchUp) and rendering tools preferred
• Understanding of Building Regulations & NHBC or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Produce planning drawings ready for submission

• Produce house type working drawings, external works, electrical layouts and conveyancing drawings

Job description

We are looking to recruit a full time/permanent Architectural Technician to work within our design team. (37.5 hours per week)

You will be based at our recently refurbished office in Spalding.

The Role:

• Work alongside and support other members of the technical team
• Produce planning drawings ready for submission
• Assist in the developing and preparing of site layouts using the standard range of house types in preparation for feasibility and planning submission
• Assist in producing supporting documentation for planning applications
• Assist in the preparation of Building Regulation compliance drawings & supporting information to achieve Building Regulation approval
• Production of house type working drawings, external works, electrical layouts and conveyancing drawings
• Revise and update layouts/house type drawings as required and re-issue to the site construction team
• Assist in the issuing of information to site
• Collaboratively work with other internal departments

The Person:

• Be proficient in AutoCAD LT
• Computer / IT literate capable of using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
• Preferably although not essential able to use a 3D software / modelling / Rendering package such as SketchUp, and Lumion
• Preferably although not essentially able to use Photoshop to produce house type elevations and street scenes.
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Have a basic understanding of the Building Regulations & NHBC or equivalent Standards, though will develop this skill.
• Be a team player with a can‑do attitude, but also self‑motivated and comfortable working on own initiative.
• Willing to learn, be flexible and get involved with a wide range of tasks.
