We are working with a dynamic and reputable architectural practice specialising in residential development. Their clients range from local house builders creating bespoke dwellings to major regional developers delivering large scale housing projects. With a strong track record of success, the practice supports clients across the UK by providing high-quality architectural services. The team is dedicated and experienced, operating in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional standards. They are now seeking a motivated Architectural Technologist / Technician to join the team and thrive in this dynamic environment. This role offers extensive experience in the housing sector, particularly in layout design and working drawings. The successful candidate will have opportunities to conduct site visits, attend meetings and collaborate with external consultants. Additional training will be gained through hands on project experience, particularly in response to upcoming regulatory changes. The person they appoint will have the opportunity to lead multiple projects and assist the design team in producing planning, working drawings and detailed designs for residential developments.

Responsibilities

Amending standard house type working drawings and producing fully detailed bespoke apartment blocks.
Preparing site technical layouts based on planning drawings, including conveyance plans for legal purposes.
Providing bespoke detailing for houses and apartment blocks to ensure smooth on-site delivery.
Mentoring and assisting junior team members with their professional development.
Liaising with external consultants and clients to deliver fully coordinated schemes.

Experience Required

Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture 2025 and MS Office 365.
Ability to produce planning and working drawings accurately and efficiently.
Knowledge of current Building Regulations and a good understanding of Future Homes Standards.
Sound understanding of M4(2), M4(3), and NDSS requirements.
Evidence of experience across multiple schemes, including both houses and apartment working drawings.
Awareness of Part B requirements and how they affect apartment blocks.
