Job description

We are currently seeking an Architectural Technician to join a multi-disciplinary, award-winning Architectural Practice based in Guildford. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development within an ambitious team.

The successful candidate will work within the Commercial and Retail sectors. Experience in these areas is beneficial but not essential. A strong knowledge of the Planning Permission process and current Building Regulations is preferred. The role provides opportunities to progress to detailed design and project delivery roles once client needs are fully understood. The team collaborates with clients and contractors, offering broad experience across project design and delivery. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential.

Position Overview

1. Contribute to planning applications and regulatory procedures
2. Collaborate with senior staff
3. Work on bespoke high-end Office, Retail, and Commercial projects across all RIBA stages
4. Produce detailed technical construction information
5. Develop drawings, models, images, and related documents
6. Report project progress to directors
7. Prepare and present design proposals using AutoCAD/Revit and traditional methods
8. Liaise with authorities for statutory approvals

Position Requirements

1. Living within a commutable distance of Guildford
2. Excellent knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
3. Motivated team player
4. Willingness to travel to sites
5. Experience in Commercial or Retail sectors (advantageous)
6. Knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Permission process
7. Broad experience within the Architectural & Construction Industry
8. Minimum of 2 years' professional UK practice experience
