Architect Surveyor - Bristol (Part-Time, Permanent)

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Bristol, is seeking an Architect Surveyor for a permanent, part-time role with a salary of £38,067 (Pro Rata).

Responsibilities:

1. Work within regional Partnerships teams to deliver discretionary services in collaboration with local partners, focusing on care, conservation, and creative reuse of heritage assets.
2. Advocate for projects that enhance quality of life through heritage conservation and community engagement.
3. Utilize a wide range of skills including advocacy, research, grant-giving, project management, capacity building, and repair and conservation to find creative solutions for heritage and community benefit.
4. Advise partners on proposals for repair and alteration of heritage assets, providing guidance on changes in historic townscapes and landscapes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Professional qualification in architecture or building surveying, with current ARB registration or chartered RICS membership, and accreditation in building conservation (AABC, RIBA SCA level, or RICS), or working towards these.
• Extensive experience in building repair and project management.
• Good knowledge of English secular and ecclesiastical architecture across periods.
• Strong understanding of building construction, repair, alteration, and adaptation methods.
• Practical and creative approach to repair problems.
• Awareness of current construction industry regulations.
