Job summary

Esri’s R&D Center in Cardiff is seeking a diligent GIS software tester to help advance ArcGIS Arcade. You will join the ArcGIS Pro development team to test new features, validate datasets and scripting workflows, and contribute to high-quality releases in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with engineers, contribute to documentation, and explore AI-assisted code generation to improve usability for GIS professionals worldwide. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of GIS experience in relevant environment.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS or QGIS.
• Strong problem-solving and analytic skills.
• Initiative and creativity to explore, investigate, test and validate software behavior.
• Experience scripting or coding to understand end users' challenges and to communicate with the development team.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Existing work authorisation for the United Kingdom.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, computer science, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Apply curiosity and attention to detail to understand ArcGIS user challenges and provide feedback on UX.
• Build GIS datasets and maps, sample apps and articles to highlight capabilities and explain scripting functions.
• Collaborate with development teams to design, create, and validate datasets and GIS workflows for visualization, labeling, and attributes.
• Describe GIS best practices and demonstrate how to apply workflows in meetings, forums, and publications.
• Learn about AI code generation to explore issues and prototype enhancements.
• Build focused test code representing complex scenarios for regression testing.
• Administer, automate, and manage online GIS systems and services to support product features and releases.
