Job summary

Esri is seeking a talented GIS/software developer to help improve ArcGIS Maps SDKs. The role focuses on understanding GIS data, building sample apps, and contributing to developer documentation while collaborating across Esri teams. Relocation assistance to Cardiff is available.

You will work with Kotlin, Qt, C#, Swift, Flutter and Python, translating user needs into robust features and reliable tests. A strong foundation in GIS, programming, and communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years GIS experience
• Proficiency with mapping/spatial data platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS
• Basic programming in Python, JavaScript, C#, or Java
• Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Experience with scripting or coding for developer users
• UK work authorisation
• Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, CS, engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Explore ArcGIS user challenges and provide feedback on UX
• Gather requirements from developers to translate into code and docs improvements
• Build focused test code for complex scenarios and regression testing
• Collaborate in SDK environments (Kotlin, Qt, C#, Swift, Flutter, Python)
• Create GIS datasets, sample apps, and articles to highlight API capabilities
• Design datasets and workflows to support geospatial analysis and field mapping
• Document GIS best practices and communicate in forums, events, or blogs
• Produce developer-focused product documentation
• Administer and manage GIS systems to support product releases
