Job summary

Countryside Classroom in Guildford, England, is seeking an experienced arboriculture professional to lead tree risk inspections and oversee a multi‑year Ash Dieback programme. You will coordinate procurement with contractors, prioritise tasks, and report on tree risk to support safe public access and biodiversity.

The role requires Level 4 Arboriculture certification, a LANTRA Tree Inspection Certificate, and a proven track record in arboricultural management, reporting, and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Qualified to Level 4 in Arboriculture and hold a LANTRA 3‑Day Professional Tree Inspection Certificate.
• Proven experience in commercial arboricultural or horticultural management.
• Experience producing tree inspection reports, works programming, auditing and reporting.
• Experience working with residents and key stakeholders.
• Enhanced DBS check required for this role.
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with willingness to travel across Surrey.

Responsibilities

• Lead tree risk inspection service in line with the Council’s Tree Risk Management Policy.
• Manage the multi‑year Ash Dieback programme and procurement, coordinating with contractors.
• Balance business as usual work with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Provide training and mentoring to ranger teams for lower‑level inspections.
