Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking an experienced arboricultural professional to lead the Council’s tree inspection programme and manage day-to-day operations across Bolton’s parks, highways, cemeteries and other Council land. You will oversee inspections, assess risks, maintain records and prioritise works, while guiding tree inspection officers and teams.

A Level 4 Arboriculture qualification, strong leadership, ICT skills (GIS/database) and a full driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 4 or above qualification in Arboriculture.
• Experience leading tree inspection officers and operational teams.
• Full driving licence.
• Knowledge of tree-related legislation and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead tree inspection programme and risk management.
• Supervise officers and teams, allocate workloads.
• Manage contractors, budgets, vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure inspections meet required standards and records maintained.
• Provide arboricultural technical advice and support statutory duties.
