Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is seeking an Approved Premises Manager (APM) for Braley House in Worcester. This full-time role requires experienced criminal justice professionals and offers visa sponsorship for foreign applicants.

The salary ranges from £46,746 to £48,760 per year, reflecting seniority and responsibility within the National Probation Service. You will lead AP staff, manage risk posed by resident offenders, and ensure high standards of public protection.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience with offender risk assessment and management as a Probation Officer or in another criminal justice agency.
• Experience in risk management and health and safety policy implementation.
• Ability to work flexibly as part of a team to hit performance targets and manage admin/IT systems.
• Evidence of evaluating practice and informing policy development.
• Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/Honours with Level 5 Diploma or equivalent recognised by the Secretary of State for Justice.
• Eligible to work in the UK or Skilled Worker visa holder (Tier 2).

Responsibilities

• Manage an Approved Premises (AP) and oversee AP staff to mitigate risk posed by residents.
• Provide effective leadership to ensure quality delivery of good practice and team performance.
• Develop staff, address underperformance, and champion diversity and inclusion.
• Participate in an out-of-hours standby duty rota to address critical issues.
