Job summary

Robert Hurst Group Ltd are seeking an experienced Approved Electrician to work on a secure prison establishment. You will be responsible for electrical installation works, including containment, wiring, and fire detection systems, while adhering to strict security procedures.

Qualifications

• Approved Electrician qualification (NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent).
• ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician).
• EL2 Security Clearance (essential).
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential).
• Proven experience installing containment systems.
• Previous experience wiring fire detection and fire alarm systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Own tools and appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

• Installation of electrical containment systems, including tray, basket, conduit and trunking.
• Wiring and installation of fire detection and alarm systems.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with current BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Maintaining a safe working environment and complying with all site health and safety procedures.
• Working efficiently within a secure custodial environment and following all prison security protocols.
• Liaising with site management and other trades to ensure work progresses to programme.
