Colchester Institute is seeking a curriculum manager to lead its apprenticeship offer across engineering, welding, fabrication, manufacturing and professional construction. The role covers staff management, budgets, quality, and creating new provision aligned with employer demand.

It sits within cross-college apprenticeship management and spans multiple funding streams. Qualifications include Level 5 in engineering/construction or equivalent, plus English/maths at level 2 and teacher training.

Qualificações

• Level 5 or above and/or a professional qualification in engineering or professional construction, or equivalent.
• Level 2 English and maths, such as GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent.
• Relevant teacher training, or completion within 3 years of employment or of the first available course.
• Assessor/verifier award, or completion within 1 year of employment or of the first available course.

Responsabilidades

• Lead staff management: recruitment, induction, lesson observations, performance reviews, targets, absence.
• Manage the area budget to agreed financial contribution levels.
• Take responsibility for quality and performance across programmes of study.
• Manage student recruitment and improve retention, achievement and positive destination rates.
• Lead the development and implementation of new apprenticeship programmes aligned with employer demand.
• Grow existing apprenticeship provision across levels and funding streams.

Formação académica

Level 5 or above in engineering or professional construction, or equivalent

Level 2 English and maths (GCSE 4/C or equivalent)
