About the job
You will manage a remote caseload of learners, guiding them through their apprenticeship journey. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality coaching, tailored support, and regular progress tracking to ensure every learner reaches their full potential and successfully completes their programme.
Responsibilities include visiting learners in the workplace or remotely, training and assessing them to ensure successful apprenticeship outcomes in line with contractual requirements and targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor learners on Level 3-5 Coaching Professional and Leadership/Management standards.
- Deliver engaging 1:1 coaching sessions and group learning via virtual platforms.
- Prepare learners for End-Point Assessment (EPA) and ensure timely achievement.
- Track progress and implement interventions to maintain engagement.
- Liaise with employers to align training with business needs and apprenticeship criteria.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records per funding and Ofsted requirements.
- Provide pastoral support and motivation to learners facing challenges.
- Stay current with industry trends to improve delivery and learner outcomes.
- Prepare, review, and agree on assessment plans with candidates.
- Create learner portfolios to target standards and ensure timely submission.
- Conduct at least monthly learner visits, either face-to-face or remotely, to provide support.
- Carry out employer visits to complete progress reviews.
Requirements for the successful Apprenticeship Trainer
What We’re Looking For
- Vocational expertise in management, leadership, and business, with a passion for coaching future leaders and supporting learners to thrive.
- Own transport and ability to cover the South (remote delivery).
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relate well to staff and learners of all abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload, including travel to various locations.
- Ability and desire to deliver taught training sessions on full Apprenticeship standards, including Vocational Qualification.
- Organized and methodical approach.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE A-C or equivalent).
- TAQA or Assessors award (or willingness to work towards).
- Own NVQ/Apprenticeship L2 or L3 qualification (preferred but not essential).
Additional desirable experience
- Proven coaching or training experience in apprenticeship or education settings.
- Experience delivering Coaching Professional Level 3-5 and/or leadership/management programmes.
- Recognized assessor qualification (e.g., CAVA, TAQA, A1).
