Langdons is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for 2 Apprentice Transport Operators based in Bridgwater. The role runs Monday to Friday with a starting salary of £15,973.91 per annum.

You will learn under the supervision of experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in transport planning and operations. As part of the apprenticeship, you will build loads, plan routes, review plans, and update company systems while following safety and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to build loads and plan routes efficiently and effectively, taking into account traffic conditions and driver restrictions.
• Learn how to regularly review and update plans and communicate with all relevant colleagues, sub-contractors and customers of outcomes and any changes in good time.
• Learn how to identify barriers to plans and take appropriate action to ensure resources are in place and issues relating to collection, transportation and delivery are addressed.
• Learn how to quote prices for movement of loads upon request.
• Learn how to ensure all company systems are updated accurately and on a timely basis and relevant paperwork is in place.
• Learn how to work closely with workshop colleagues to ensure resource requirements and service schedules are met.
• Learn how to provide cover for the Customer Service Team when required.

Here at Langdons,we havean amazing opportunity for 2 xApprentice Transport Operatorsto join the team based in Bridgwater.This apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity to learn through a mixture of on-the-job experience and block release training through an apprenticeship provider. You will learn how to be a Transport Operator under the guidance of experienced professionals.

The role is based on a Monday-Friday working week. You will receive a starting apprenticeship salary of £15,973.91 per annum.

The role of an Apprentice Transport Operator:

This is a fantastic role to really get your teeth into! This apprenticeship will help you learn how to assist transport colleagues to ensure that incoming and outgoing deliveries for designated customers are efficiently and effectively dealt with and that all relevant records are created and maintained todrive company vehicles efficiently, legally andsafely.

What you’ll be doing as our Apprentice Transport Operator?

• Learn how to build loads and plan routes efficiently and effectively, taking into account traffic conditions and driver restrictions and requirements
• Learn how to regularly review and update plans and communicate with all relevant colleagues, sub-contractors and customers of outcomes and any changes in good time of arrangements being made
• Learn how to identify any barriers to plans and takes appropriate action to ensure adequate resources are in place and any issues relating to collection, transportation and delivery of goods are addressed
• Learn how to quote prices for movement of loads upon request
• Learn how to ensure all company systems are updated accurately and on a timely basis and relevant paperwork is in place
• Learn how to work closely with workshop colleagues to ensure resource requirements and service schedules are met
• Learn how to provide cover for the Customer Service Team where required.

Training:

• Follow ongoing training plan to ensure all Learning Outcomes are met over the duration of the apprenticeship
• Be diligent and committed to the apprenticeship process and make sure that any concerns or questions are raised with the appropriate person
• Work together with the training provider and Stef Langdons to meet all expectations of the apprenticeship
• Attend and take part in off site training at regular intervals (usually every 2 months)
