As an Apprentice Service Engineer, you will learn through a dedicated mentor, our college provider over a three-year Level 3 program, and additional manufacturer training sessions. Your role will include servicing, repairing, and LOLER testing the full range of hire equipment in the HSS portfolio.

What you’ll do day to day:

• Complete routine service and maintenance of all hire equipment and products under the guidance of your workshop mentor.
• Coordinate with your mentor to obtain spare parts, ensuring cost-effective repairs.
• Use on-site Kanbans effectively to keep machines ready for hire.
• Advise on equipment recommendations regarding write-offs, damage, dirty or lost accessories, and recharging customers when applicable.

What you’ll bring:

• A strong desire to learn in mechanical and electrical engineering fields.
• A positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A three-year commitment to attend college away from home to attain a qualification in plant maintenance.
• Proficiency with computer systems and strong numerical skills.
• Experience in manual handling is beneficial but not essential.

This role involves enrolling in the L3 Land-Based Service Engineer Apprenticeship. To meet entry criteria, candidates should hold GCSEs or equivalent in English & Math (Grade 4 / C).
