Your role will be based within a busy schuh store. You will provide excellent service by delivering the schuh customer service values, maintaining high standards of presentation and display, and efficiently handling stock, cash, and administration.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service
  • Deliver service that meets customers’ individual needs and exceeds expectations.
  • Show personality and the right attitude to deliver unrivalled service.
  • Care and respect for customers and colleagues.
  • Acknowledge and greet customers, being aware of their needs at all times.
  • React quickly to customer needs, including telephone queries.
  • Politely handle complaints and find appropriate solutions.
  • Acquire product knowledge and promote features and benefits.
  • Offer alternatives when products are unavailable and promote additional items.
  • Promote the company’s order service to increase sales.
  • Merchandising & Display
    • Understand store layout and merchandising techniques.
    • Merchandise and present products considering company guidelines.
    • Ensure display products are correctly priced, clean, tidy, and replenished.
  • Cash Handling & Administration
    • Process sales and handle payments according to company procedures.
    • Handle refunds and exchanges following company policies.
  • Stock Management
    • Receive, unpack, check, and store stock efficiently.
    • Conduct stock counts and implement price changes accurately.
    • Organize stock transfers and complete necessary paperwork.
    • Ensure stock is stored safely and stockrooms are tidy.
    • Follow security procedures to minimize stock loss.
  • Commercial Awareness
    • Know store sales targets and suggest improvements.
    • Be aware of best and worst selling lines and give product feedback.
    • Understand the competition.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Comply with health and safety policies and other company policies.
    • Perform additional duties as required by management.

    This overview highlights some of your potential daily tasks. You will work towards the Retail Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard over 15 months.
