Job summary

Oldham Council is offering an Apprentice Level 4 in Housing and Communities Project Management based at Spindles Offices, Oldham. The 18‑month fixed term role supports the Housing Change Programme, assisting with project delivery, planning, and stakeholder communications.

You will learn practical project management skills under guidance from an experienced Project Manager, while developing knowledge in housing policy, homelessness prevention and community wellbeing. Salary is £25,711 p.a.

Qualifications

• Sufficient literacy and numeracy to undertake the tasks and duties of the role
• Experience of using Microsoft Office software; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Experience of completing tasks to deadlines
• Experience of researching and collating information

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of projects and service improvement initiatives within the Housing Change Programme.
• Assist in the planning, monitoring, and reporting of project activities, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Preparing agendas, requesting agenda items, and chasing follow up actions where appropriate.
• Assisting with investigatory work, research and information gathering to contribute to support project development and decision-making.
• Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, presentations, reports, and communications for a range of stakeholders.
• Attend project, programme, and stakeholder meetings, recording actions and monitoring progress against agreed timescales.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is up to date and accessible.
• Apply project management tools, techniques, and best practice principles learned through the apprenticeship programme to support successful project delivery.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, ensuring work undertaken contributes towards the achievement of the apprenticeship qualification.
