Job summary

S&P Plumbing Contracts Ltd in Essex is offering a 4-year plumbing and domestic heating technician apprenticeship (Level 3). You will work on domestic new build and existing properties, assisting qualified engineers with installation, reading drawings, and gaining hands-on skills.

The program provides structured training at Colchester Institute, with progression to permanent roles and opportunities to learn renewable technologies. Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm, Tendring area.

Qualifications

• GCSE maths and English at A*-C/9-4
• Willingness to learn and develop plumbing and heating skills
• Interest in working on domestic plumbing projects

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified engineers with first and second fix plumbing and heating installations.
• Learn to install domestic hot and cold water systems.
• Assist with the installation of domestic central heating systems, radiators and underfloor heating.
• Assist with the installation of sanitaryware including baths, toilets, basins, sinks and showers.
• Read and interpret drawings and installation specifications.
• Measure, cut and install copper and plastic pipework.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment in line with health and safety requirements.

Job description

Introduction

Join S&P Plumbing Contracts and learn from experienced engineers working on domestic new build and existing property projects across Essex. You will assist with installing plumbing and heating systems (including underfloor heating and more) while gaining the practical skills needed to become a qualified plumbing & heating engineer.

We carry out high-quality plumbing, heating, underfloor heating and renewable energy installations, including air source heat pumps, for national housebuilders as well as local developers across Essex.

What You'll Do

Day to day role responsibilities will include:

Training Outcome
