Job summary

Mitie Group is offering an Apprentice Painter & Decorator role in the North West, with hands‑on training across a range of commercial, residential and public sector projects. You will work with experienced decorators, learn painting and decorating skills, and gain a recognised qualification while contributing to high‑quality workmanship.

This apprenticeship focuses on safely handling tools, surface preparation, and supporting project teams to ensure timely, high‑standard delivery.

Qualifications

• Apprentice will learn painting and decorating across commercial, residential and public sector projects.
• Gain practical skills and a recognised qualification through on‑the‑job training.
• Work alongside experienced decorators and support project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with internal and external painting and decorating works.
• Learn surface preparation, sanding, filling and minor repairs.
• Help set up access equipment following training.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure materials are available.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship and customer service.

Working alongside experienced decorators, you’ll receive full training in all aspects of painting and decorating across a variety of commercial, residential and public sector projects.

As an Apprentice Painter & Decorator, you will learn and assist with:

• Internal and external painting and decorating works.
• Surface preparation, including sanding, filling and minor repairs.
• Safe use and maintenance of painting and decorating tools, materials and equipment.
• Setting up and using access equipment following appropriate training.
• Installing protective coverings, temporary screening and access plant as required.
• Maintaining stock levels and ensuring materials are available when needed.
• Delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
• Working safely and complying with Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Supporting project teams to ensure works are completed on time and to a high standard.
