Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is offering an Apprentice Painter & Decorator position in the North West region. This permanent, full-time apprenticeship lets you learn a skilled trade while earning and working toward a recognised Painting & Decorating qualification.

You'll train on-site with experienced decorators across commercial, residential and public sector projects, gain practical skills, and receive mentoring, college support, and a clear path for progression within the Mitie team.

• Reliable, hardworking and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling and minor repairs.
• Safely use and maintain painting tools and equipment.
• Set up access equipment after training.
• Install protective coverings and temporary screening.
• Maintain stock and ensure materials are available when needed.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship and customer service.
• Work safely and follow Health & Safety procedures.
• Support project teams to complete works on time and to a high standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Internal and external painting and decorating works.
• Surface preparation, including sanding, filling and minor repairs.
• Safe use and maintenance of painting and decorating tools, materials and equipment.
• Setting up and using access equipment following appropriate training.
• Installing protective coverings, temporary screening and access plant as required.
• Maintaining stock levels and ensuring materials are available when needed.
• Delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
• Working safely and complying with Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Supporting project teams to ensure works are completed on time and to a high standard.
