Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Ayr is offering an apprenticeship in automotive service. This full-time role involves a 39-hour week at our Ayr Prep Centre and Ayr Peugeot, with two weeks of initial training at GTG Training.

You’ll be mentored in the workshop, complete hands-on tasks across wheels, tyres, servicing and MOT prep, and be assessed regularly to ensure progress. Successful apprentices gain career pathways within Arnold Clark.

Qualifications

• National 4 or above in Maths, English and a science/technical subject.
• Good literacy and numeracy standards.
• Reliable and keen to learn.
• Able to work in a team and on own initiative.
• Ability to take instruction and listen.
• Willingness to ask questions.

Responsibilities

• Work with wheels and tyres.
• Basic servicing including car health checks.
• Assist steering and suspension work.
• MOT preparation duties.
• Apply theory in practical, workplace tasks.
• Learn electrical fault diagnostics.
• Film work to build trust with customers.

This is a full-time role, 39 hours a week.

You’ll attend one of our dedicated training centres, GTG Training, for two weeks’ initial training and then throughout your apprenticeship. You’ll also regularly be assessed at work to make sure you’re on track for success.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s willing to learn and wants to advance their career. You’ll need to have loads of enthusiasm for the work and be able to take instructions and advice from your mentor in a workplace environment. At the end of the qualification, there are also some fantastic career opportunities on offer for successful participants.
