Job summary

Raby Estates is seeking an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative to support restoration and maintenance across the Estate’s residential, commercial and agricultural properties. You will work alongside experienced colleagues while developing the knowledge and skills required for a Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship.

The role is based at Raby Estates, County Durham, with a 39-hour week and salary based on Apprentice NMW.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at 4/C or above.
• Apprenticeship duration: 24 months plus 3 months EPA.
• One day per week at Bishop Auckland College.
• Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship Standard.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out Restoration and reactive maintenance across estate properties.
• Develop skills in painting & decorating, plumbing, electrical repairs, and carpentry & joinery.
• Assist with planned inspections and reactive maintenance.
• Learn safe use of hand and power tools.
• Maintain accurate records of work undertaken.
• Support other trades across the Estate.

Job Title: Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative

Reports to: Construction Supervisor

Place of work: Raby Estates

Liaising with: Estate Management team, other colleagues and contractors

Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: Based on Apprentice NMW

Purpose of the Job

The Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative will be based in County Durham and, as a key member of the Projects Team, will have an important role in supporting the restoration and maintenance of the Estate's residential, commercial and agricultural properties. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced colleagues whilst developing the knowledge, skills and behaviors required to achieve a Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship.
