Apprentice IT Service Desk Technician

About the Position:

Are you looking to start a new career or shift your current one? If you're seeking an exciting opportunity in an IT department with a progressive team and company, where you can develop new skills and build a rewarding career, this might be the perfect role for you!

You will join QA as an IT Service Desk Apprentice within our IT team, providing support for various tasks essential to our efficiency and success. Working as part of our wider IT team, you'll play a key role in QA's growth.

Your responsibilities include providing 1st line support to internal and external customers. As the first point of contact, you'll handle faults and work requests, proactively seeking resolutions and keeping customers informed of progress.

This role is based at QA HQ, providing support via telephone and in person at the desk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting colleagues calling the dedicated QA Helpdesk with issues related to access rights, application faults, etc.
  • Providing 1st line support to customers, making a great impression and resolving incidents where possible.
  • Adopting ITIL best practices to handle incidents and requests via phone, email, or end-user portal, ensuring courteous and effective resolutions.
  • Escalating incidents to 2nd and 3rd line teams when necessary.
  • Maintaining excellent customer service and satisfaction levels.

About You:

  • Confident on the phone with an interest in IT/Computing; perhaps you've built your own PCs or support friends and family with IT issues and want to turn this into a career.
  • Positive attitude, eager to learn, and committed to providing excellent service.
  • Ability to take responsibility for faults and work requests, proactively seeking resolutions and keeping customers informed.
