Job summary

Barlows UK Ltd is seeking an apprentice to join our engineering team in the Bristol/Newport area. You’ll install, maintain and fault-find on access control, video surveillance, intruder alarms, fire alarms, PAVA, disabled refuge systems, emergency lighting, under supervision of experienced engineers.

Training is delivered by Skills for Security, with block-release at our Bristol centre, one week every eight weeks, leading to a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
• Live locally and able to commute.
• Previous experience/qualifications in electrical installation will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Train hands-on with real systems such as access control and CCTV.
• Learn from industry engineers and complete tasks and projects.
• Build evidence from work to support your learning.
• Sit annual assessments at the training centre.
