Job summary

Johnson Controls is offering an Apprentice Service Engineer position in the Fire and Security domain. The role covers Oxfordshire and surrounding areas, with some travel to the Southeast and Southwest.

You will train at Banham Academy and gain hands‑on experience on alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder systems. You will start with GCSEs at grade 5 in English and Maths, a full UK driving licence, and a willingness to travel and stay away when required.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English & Maths at grade 5 (C) or above.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions.
• Good physical health; labour‑intensive at times.
• Willing to travel, stay away and hotels when needed.

Responsibilities

• Service, commission, and maintain fire and security systems at client sites.
• Learn fire detection, intrusion detection, CCTV and access control systems.
• Spend significant time on client sites; hands‑on servicing and repair of equipment.
• Travel to residential, commercial and retail locations.
• Collaborate with a team to become a qualified fire and security engineer.
