Blackburn College is recruiting an Apprentice Engineering Technician to support the engineering curriculum and coordinate workshop/assessment areas for staff and students. You should hold a Level 2 English and Maths qualification and have experience operating equipment, with a solid IT skill set and familiarity with simulation software to control equipment.
You will study toward a Level 3 within 48 months. The role is 37 hours per week and involves safeguarding checks and DBS verification as

Working across both the Higher and Further Education Engineering departments to support the effective delivery of the engineering curriculum. You will be expected to provide day to day co-ordination of workshop / assessment areas whilst working with the team of staff to ensure effective support is provided to both staff and students. You will alsobe responsible for monitoring and maintaining equipment within the engineering department, coordinating resource usage efficiently to deliver the curriculum.
You should hold a Level 2 qualification in English and maths and have Experience of operating a range of relevant equipment, instructing and developing practical forms of delivery in an Engineering context. You should also have comprehensive IT skills, particularly a sound understanding of any simulation software or using computer software to control physical equipment. As part of this role you will be expected to study towards a level 3 qualification and successfully complete this within 48 months.
