Job summary

Aintree Plastics Ltd in Liverpool is offering a Level 3 Advanced Engineering Maintenance Technician - Electrical apprenticeship. You will train at NWTC on day release while employed by the company.

You will learn to carry out planned and preventative maintenance, diagnose faults on belts and drives, and ensure health and safety standards. The programme supports progression to further in-house training and potentially higher qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Essential GCSE English at C/4 or above.
  • Essential GCSE Maths at C/4 or above.
  • Desirable GCSE Science at C/4 or above.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out checks and maintenance outlined within Planned, Preventative Maintenance.
  • Carry out repair fault diagnosis breakdown on belts, chains, drivers; perform safety checks.
  • Servicing of equipment repair & replacement.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures; uphold Health and Safety standards.

Job description

Introduction

You will work towards achieving a Level 3 advanced Engineering Maintenance Technician - Electrical apprenticeship, attending NWTC Training Centre on day release, for training and Further Education. The remainder of your time will be spent with your employer training whilst employed. NWTC will monitor your Apprenticeship.

What You'll Do

Working under supervision you will work towards being responsible for the following tasks:

  • Carrying out checks and maintenance outlined within Planned, Preventative Maintenance
  • Carry out repair fault diagnosis breakdown on belts chains drivers, safety checks
  • Servicing of equipment repair & replacement
  • Carry out reasonable instructions Ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained show due diligence
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Carry out reasonable requests to meet the needs of the business
  • Working alongside experienced and qualified staff you will learn the core skills
  • Working under supervision you will work towards being responsible for a range of tasks including

Working Week: Starting at 38 hours per week and move to 42 as the apprenticeship progresses.½ hour unpaid lunch8:00am- 4.30pm Monday to Thursday.8:00am- 2.30pm Friday.Start date with Aintree Plastics 24-08-2026Start date with NWTC September 2026
