Every year Linde Material Handling recruits a number of apprentices across the UK. During this programme, you will receive hands-on experience while studying for a nationally recognized qualification.

Our Apprenticeship Programme

The Linde Material Handling (MH) Engineering Apprenticeship Programme helps develop our own engineers to support our demand for field, workshop, and site-based engineers. The main purpose is to learn how to become a fully competent Linde engineer by applying college learning and demonstrating this knowledge to mentors and assessors to meet customer needs.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Engineer in the South region. You should be passionate about engineering, eager to learn, motivated to succeed, and interested in joining a multinational engineering company.

The programme lasts three years, culminating in a Level 3 apprenticeship in Lift Truck & Powered Access Engineering. You will be supported by a dedicated Mentor and an Apprentice Development Officer (ADO), who will monitor your training through college and on-the-job learning. During this time, you will learn to inspect, maintain, service, and repair various types of material handling equipment including forklift trucks.

Travel to college, including overnight stays, will be funded along with accommodation and meals. Upon successful completion, you will be a qualified Linde engineer ready to start your career.

Your duties and responsibilities include:

  • Attending all required training courses
  • Passing knowledge tests and assessments
  • Completing an e-Portfolio
  • Working closely with trainers to achieve your qualification
  • Gaining competence in maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics

Tasks and Qualifications:

To succeed, you need a passion for engineering, motivation, and a willingness to learn. Good communication skills and a confident attitude are essential.

Applicants should have:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in Math and English, or equivalent
  • A full driving license
  • An interest in engineering and technology
