Job summary

AFI-Rentals in Liverpool is offering a 3-year Apprentice Engineer program. You will gain hands-on experience servicing our hire fleet of truck-mounted and powered access machinery, learning from senior engineers.

The apprenticeship combines practical workshop work at our Liverpool depot with block-release training at F-TEC Swindon to achieve the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard, plus PDIs and meticulous service records to meet safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above.
• Genuine enthusiasm for practical engineering and a desire to learn.
• Ability to work well under pressure and follow safety instructions.
• Willingness to attend block-release training modules at F-TEC Swindon.
• Valid UK driving licence (or working towards one) is advantageous for future progression.

Responsibilities

• Depot Training: Inspect, service, fault-find, and repair systems on our fleet.
• Block Release College: Attend structured block-release modules at F-TEC Swindon to earn Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
• Safety & Standards: Carry out PDIs and maintain accurate service records to meet safety regulations.

Based from, our Liverpool depot, this 3-year apprenticeship combines practical, real-world workshop experience alongside specialist block-release training at F-TEC in Swindon, the UK's leading training provider for the powered access and material handling sectors.

About the Role

As an Apprentice Engineer, you will gain valuable practical experience servicing and maintaining our expanding hire fleet of modern truck-mounted and powered access machinery. Working alongside experienced service engineers, you will learn to master complex systems.

• Depot Training: Inspect, service, fault-find, and repair systems on our fleet.
• Block Release College: Attend structured block-release modules at F-TEC Swindon to earn your Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
• Safety & Standards: Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and maintain accurate service records to ensure machines meet strict safety and industry regulations.
