Job summary

Adler and Allan is seeking an ambitious Apprentice Electrician to join our team. The role involves travel to sites across the UK, performing a broad range of electrical duties from service and breakdown works to new installations in commercial and industrial environments, including hazardous areas and periods away from home as required.

You will work under supervision with engineers, gain on-the-job training, and develop skills in electrical testing, RAMS compliance, and site safety.

Responsibilities

• Work at various locations throughout the UK undertaking new electrical installation works.
• Carry out minor civil/construction duties such as clearing cable routes and making holes in walls for electrical installations.
• Test newly installed circuits/cabling and record results under supervision by a competent engineer.
• Complete test certification and submit for approval from the qualifying manager.
• Assist other engineers as required.
• Ensure all equipment checks are undertaken before starting works.
• Ensure safe handling of materials with correct procedures and RAMS compliance.
• Maintain security of company equipment on-site.
• Read and sign RAMS documentation and comply with health and safety requirements.
• Identify repair work required during duties.
• Liaise with customers on-site to discuss ongoing works and future services.
• Complete all works paperwork promptly and communicate with divisional staff.

More about the role:

• Work at various locations throughout the UK undertaking new electrical installation works.
• Carry out a selection of minor civil/construction duties such as clearing cable routes, making holes in walls to enable you to carry out your electrical installation works.
• Testing of newly installed circuits/cabling and recording of results- under supervision by competent Engineer.
• Completion on test certification efficiently and submit for approval from the qualifying manager.
• Assist other Engineers as and when required.
• Responsibility for ensuring all equipment checks is undertaken prior to commencing any works.
• Ensure all uplifting and offloading of materials is undertaken in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices.
• Responsibility for ensuring the security of all Company equipment.
• Works to be carried out in accordance with health and safety to include provided RAMS documentation. The apprentice electrician holds full responsibility for reading and signing such documentation.
• You will also be responsible for identifying repair work required.
• Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
• Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to divisional staff.
• Liaison with Line manager / office staff regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities.
