Job summary

Adsyst Automation Ltd in Sandhurst is offering an Apprentice Electrical Technician role with a City and Guilds Electrotechnical apprenticeship (5357-03/23) to commence September 2026 as a day-release program. The role is based at our head office with a full UK driving licence required for site work and college commutes.

The position is full-time (08:30-17:15 Monday-Thursday, 08:30-16:00 Friday) with year-one salary of £16,500, and includes benefits such as pension, private health, and training

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in Electrical Engineering or practical experience desired.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and control panel wiring.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, install and maintain electrical control systems and components to specification.
  • Read design specifications and technical drawings.
  • Assist in creating FDS, RAMS and method statements.
  • Learn PLC software and HMI/SCADA development.
  • Site installation and commissioning; customer facing responsibilities.

The course on offer is City and Guilds Electrotechnicalapprenticeship qualification (5357-03/23) that is being carried out atvariousCollegesfrom September 2026as a day release. Responsibilities will include:
  • Design, develop,installandmaintainelectrical control systems and components to specification
  • Reading design specifications and technical drawings
  • Aiding in the production of detailed functional design specifications (FDS), methodstatementsand risk assessments (RAMS).
  • Chance to learn the production of PLC software
  • Chance to learn the production of HMI / SCADA software
  • Site installation and commissioning
  • Customer facing position

Whilstthe majority ofthe work will be within standard working hours this operational role requires you to be flexible and can occasionally have a need to travel to sites which might include an overnight stay.

Full-time position

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Electrical Engineering or ideally some practical experience. A good understanding of electrical diagrams for control panel wiring or electrical installation would also be beneficial.

The role requires a self-motivated, practical problem solver withgood communicationskills. The candidate will need to have afull UKdrivinglicencedue to the nature of the site-based workand commuting to college.

What we require from you:
  • Previousexperience in a service & support, electrical installation or maintenance role or a strong interest in a career in electrical engineering.
  • Electrical design includingEPlanor equivalent would beadvantageous.
  • Controlpanel design,manufactureor electrical installation skills.
  • Experience of equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Must have the rights to work in the UK
