Job summary

Cherubs Nurseries is offering a 30 hours per week apprenticeship to gain hands-on experience, qualifications and support throughout your development in childcare. You’ll work with an experienced team, learn safeguarding practices and actively contribute to the delivery of activities for children.

You will be progressing toward a childcare qualification, with internal training and growth opportunities across Cherubs Nurseries.

Qualifications

• Working towards a childcare qualification.
• Ability to join a childcare team and support early years delivery.
• Commitment to safeguarding and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Childcare Team to provide an amazing service for children and families.
• Ensure the environment and nursery are safe, secure and clean at all times.
• Be a role model for the children.
• Attend coursework and progress towards your childcare qualification.
• Assist in planning and delivering indoor and outdoor activities to support development.
• Build friendly yet professional relationships with parents, staff and suppliers.
• Attend staff events, meetings and training, including some outside usual hours.

About our Nursery

Cherubs Longdale is a modern, rural 90‑place nursery in Ravenshead, Nottingham. Being a car driver is essential to be part of this established and long‑serving team. Set in just under an acre of beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside, with some bus links.

P.s - as an Apprentice you can apply for an ISIC - International Student Identity Card. Just like Discounts for Teachers, an ISIC gets you discounts at many high street and online retailers. There is a small fee of £12 for the card, which lasts for 1-year.

What you'll be doing

• Work as part of the Childcare Team to provide an amazing service, for both our children and families.
• Ensure the children's environment and your nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times.
• Be a role model for the children at all times.
• Work towards your qualification in childcare, ensuring all targets are met and you are always up to date with any assigned coursework.
• Assist in the thorough planning and successful delivery of a variety of activities (both indoor and outdoor) to maintain the children's interests and to ensure the development of all children in‑line with their own needs.
• Establish and maintain friendly but professional relationships with all parents, staff and suppliers.
• Attend all staff events including parents evening, staff meetings, summer fairs and training - some of these may be out of working hours and on weekends.
