Rodericks Dental Partners in Yeovil is offering an Apprentice Dental Nurse placement at Yeovil Dental Practice. You will train toward a nationally recognised dental nursing qualification while gaining hands-on experience across 6 surgeries and a clinical team.

You’ll work 30 hours per week, learn infection control, patient care, and assist dentists during procedures, with structured onboarding and mentorship to support your growth and career in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Interest in healthcare and patient care.
• Friendly, caring, and approachable personality.
• Willingness to learn and work on your feet.
• GCSEs in English and Maths are desirable, but enthusiasm matters most.

Responsibilities

• Support dentists during clinical procedures.
• Prepare, sterilise, and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Help keep treatment areas clean and organised to meet hygiene standards.
• Provide reassurance and support to patients before, during, and after treatment.
• Maintain accurate patient records and complete coursework for qualification.
• Participate in training sessions and development activities.

• Practice Manager- Non clinical but worked in have 15+ yrs experience in dental practices. CQC registered, financial/commercial background.
• 2 train stations within the town. 1 direct to Waterloo. Bus station ¼ mile away. Good bus links. 40 mins from M5 (at Taunton), 15mins from A303.
• No onsite parking but local car park nearby

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Support dentists during clinical procedures
• Prepare, sterilise, and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Help keep treatment areas clean and organised to meet strict hygiene standards
• Provide reassurance and support to patients before, during, and after treatment
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Complete coursework and assessments as part of your dental nursing qualification
• Participate fully in training sessions and development activities

Skills and Attributes We’re Looking For:

• A genuine interest in healthcare and patient care
• Friendly, caring, and approachable personality
• Comfortable working in a clinical environment, including procedures where you may see blood or surgical treatments
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• An understanding that you will be on your feet throughout the day!
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are desirable but not essential – enthusiasm and dedication matter most!
